Never Lose your Way

D-Sign worked closely with the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to create a pilot system that would enable users to find their way to nearby locations in the airport. The system incorporated a multi-tiered menu structure, enabling users to select from categories such as Food and Drink, Lounges, Amenities, and Retail. Once a destination had been selected by a user they were shown an animation through a 3D map of the airport starting at their standing point and ending on the destination they had chosen. The system displays high-resolution visuals on two 46” plasma screens. The system went live August 13th 2009.

Easy to Use

The Spotlight System is simple to use. First, step onto the iconic feet mat in front of the system to begin your experience. Then follow the tutorial video that appears on the top screen. You will be guided through the motions and learn how to naturally use your hands to make selections and find your desired destination. Finding your way has never been easier.

Natural Interface

The Spotlight System consists of an easy to use menu system. Simply move your hand left and right and the carousel menu will move accordingly. Making a selection is as easy as putting your hand forward until the selection animation completes. To go back just select the back button.

The Spotlight System guides you through a 3d map of Vancouver International Airport, making way-finding a more natural and enjoyable experience. Our use of 3D landmarks will anchor you and ensure that will never lose your way again.
